Betty Rothaus, MFA, captures the unique qualities of her subjects revealing their inner spirit.
Betty, an artist and art educator, has exhibited, lectured, and taught nationally and internationally including France, Japan, Spain, and Norway. Her work has appeared at the Museum of Natural History, Paris, France, San Diego’s Ruben H. Fleet Museum, and Somarts Cultural Center in San Francisco, and hangs in private collections in the United States and abroad.
Betty was awarded a BFA (U of Florida) in drawing and painting MFA (Miami of Ohio) in print making with additional studies in color at the Experimental Etching Studio in Boston, Massachusetts and William Stanley Hayter at Atelier 17 in Paris. She has studied design with Sara Wallach and portraiture with Sherry Kwint-Cattouche, Bob Gerbracht and Hui Han in the Bay Area.
In addition to her private work, Betty directs the Art Programs at the Reutlinger Community for Jewish Living in Danville, CA. She currently lives in Walnut Creek, CA.
