A portrait captures the essence as well as a likeness of each individual. A painted or drawn image is composed of thousands of moments of observation recorded in colors, values and strokes placed on the canvas. The oil, pastel or charcoal are extensions of the eye. As an artist, I work to transmit what I see and feel about the individual and to create a recognition of that presence within a beautiful and original work of art.
